Old Shit Pt. II: Ten Years Ago

Just came back from a wedding in sunny California, a whirlwind weekend including concurrent connecting flight delays, heavy drinking at the Phoenix Airport Fox Sports SkyBox Bar, and an evening sleeping in the back of my Mom’s car! Good times all around.
Anyway, there were a ton of people I hadn’t seen in a decade there, which made it sort of a post-high-school reunion (this would normally be what is called the “college years,” though I was only marginally attending community college at the time.) Some are doing great, some are hating life, and it was a bit surreal all around. Anyway, got me thinking about what I was doing ten years ago, and one of those things was listening to a lot of fucking indie rock. Here’s some of my faves of the time.
Sebadoh - “Too Pure”
Pulp - “Underwear”
Pavement - “Father To A Sister of Thought”
Yo La Tengo - “Paul is Dead”
The Silver Jews - “How To Rent a Room”
